Education in: United States Of America!

Studying in America
America is the second largest country in the world when it comes to population and area. The country has a multicultural society and strongly varying landscapes. When you study in America you’ll discover the beautiful mountain landscapes, the extended planes, hot beaches and impressive cities.

American studies
America is a very attractive place to go to find new challenges, also on educational levels. The country offers many interesting education options and roughly 30000 students around the world study in America per year. There is a wide variety of education institutes and high quality education.

Lifestyle
In America the reverse of the Dutch “act normal then you’ll be acting strange enough” is true. Everything is big, bigger or biggest. There’s no reason to be bored in your free time. You can surf, kayak, dive, climb, raft or play tennis, just to name a few of the options. America is the country of huge shopping malls and attraction parks, in case you’re interested in that. The American culture has a great influence on our Western world, in the world of music, television and film, but also literature and lifestyle.

Economy
America has a dynamic economy and many natural resources. In many parts of the country large revenues are brought in through oil, iron, lead, zinc, copper and agricultural products such as grain, soya beans and sugar. The growing infrastructure of (rail)roads, waterways, airways and telephone, fax, radio, tv and computer (internet) has not only helped agriculture and production to grow, but also assisted in the transition to a service based economy. Roughly 75% of Americans currently work in the service sector.

Population
The population consists of 70% people originating from Europe, 12.5% Latinos, 12.3% African-Americans, 3.6% Asians and 1% natives and Hawaiians. Roughly 80% of the American population lives in the main cities. A large majority, 79.8%, of the population is Christian, 1.4% is Jewish, 0.6% is Muslim, 0.5% is Buddhist and 15% is not devoted to a religion.

Government
America is a federal republic. The federation has 50 states that all operate somewhat independently from the American federal government. The president is the head of state.
